FARLEY, Iowa -- Services for John M. Hartford, of 820 Ash Drive, Colona, Ill., formerly of Farley, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley. The Rev. Dennis Cain will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, with military services by Farley American Legion Post 656. Visitation is 2-9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, with a wake service at 4 p.m.

John died Monday, July 30, 2001, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

He is survived by a son and (spouse), Jeff and (Lisa) Hartford, Bettendorf; a daughter, Kathy Stoyke, Lafayette, Ind.; grandchildren, Paige, Tyler and Dylan; his mother, Lou Hartford, Farley; brothers and spouses, Michael R. and (Jayne) Hartford, Dubuque, and Timothy R. and (Sue) Hartford, Wonewoc, Wis.; sisters and (spouses), Sharon A. and (Milo) Mueller, Dubuque, and Debby and (Jerry) Jasper, Farley; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his father, Robert Hartford; and a nephew, Gary Hartford.

A memorial fund for John has been established for the Genesis West Cancer Center in Davenport in lieu of flowers. The family of John would like to thank Dr. Kevoch and the staff of Genesis West Cancer Center for all the wonderful care given to John.
