The death of Mrs. James Madigan ocurred yesterday at her residence in Vernon Twp and causes a pang of grief among her relatives and friends, for she was a most excellent woman, a kind mother and an obliging neighbor, whose efforts were always in behalf of the sick and oppressed. Her age was about 50 years. She was the mother of seven children who have lost the best friend on earth. She was a graduate of Benton seiminary, and the daughter of the late Michael O'Brien, extreasurer of Dubuque County, a woman honored and respected wherever known. Her birth place was Syracuse, N.Y. The funeral obsequies will be observed to-day at 2:30 o'clock and the remains interred at the monastery. A number of people go out to attend the funeral.

note: her children were Michael, Albert, James, Josephine, Magdelen, Agnes and Mary.
