Dubuque Herald: The many friends of Miss Ellen B. Madigan learn with much regret of her death, which occurred Friday afternoon at Mercy Hospital. She had been sick with appendictis six weeks and four operations were performed but failed to relieve her. She was 32 years of age and was the daughter of the late James B. Madigan
of Vernon Township. She was born in Vernon and was educated at St. Clara's academy. Since the death of their parents the children have resided at 87 Summit Street. She is survived by four sisters and two brothers. These are Mary, Agnes, Magdalene, Josie, James B. and Albert. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the residence to the cathedrel. Interment will be at the Monestary.
