Sister Gloria (Amabilis) Higgins, OP, died August 30, 2018. The funeral Mass is at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2018. at the Sinsinawa motherhouse. A wake will be at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, September 6.

Sister Gloria was a primary teacher at St. Rose, Cuba City, 1980-1982, 1984-1985. She taught in Milwaukee; Minneapolis; Kansas City; Chicago; Columbus, Wis.; and Peoria, Il. In the 1970s she was in the business office of the motherhouse. From 1985 to 2006 she served in St. James School office, Rockford, Ill. She returned to Sinsinawa in 2006 and joined the community at St. Dominic Villa in 2014.

Sister Gloria was born Jan. 29, 1922 in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Leonard and Genevieve (Brossard) Higgins. Her survivors are a sister-in-law, Lucia; nieces and nephews; and her Dominican Sisters.
