Dubuque Man Is Called At Pierre

Charles B. St. Clair Called Away Thursday Morning

Charles B. St. Clair, of Dubuque, passed away at Pierre, South Dakota, Thursday morning, Nov. 22, at 11:30 o’clock. He held the position as general sales manager of the Free Sewing Machine company, residing at 68 Caledonia Place.

He was born at Oskaloosa, Iowa, July 12, 1866, and was fifty-one years of age at the time of his death. About fourteen years ago, Mr. St. Clair removed here from Fort Dodge, and had made Dubuque his home ever since.

His health had been failing for the past two years and he left two weeks ago to motor to Hot Springs, S.D., for treatment. At Pierre, he was afflicted with a serious illness, which terminated in his death.

The deceased is survived by his wife and four children – Mrs. Flora Carwell, Rock Island, Ill.; C.H. St. Clair, Aberdeen, S.D.; Carl St. Clair, Quincy, Ill., and Miss Blossom St. Clair, of Garrett, Ind. One sister, Mrs. Frank Ruth of Minneapolis, and two brothers, Lewis of Camp Cody, Deming, N.M., and Harry, of Milwaukee, also survive.

Mr. St. Clair was a member of the Illinois Commercial Travelers’ Association, The Iowa State Traveling Men’s Association, and of the Minneapolis Traveling Men’s Association. He was very well liked among the business men, and had acquire a large circle of friends.

Charles B. St. Clair At Rest In Linwood

Charles B. St. Clair of this city, who passed away at Pierre, S.D., was laid to rest Monday afternoon at two o’clock. The services took place at the residence, 68 Caledonia place, with Rev. Henry F. Milligan officiating. Two vocal selections were beautifully rendered by Miss Cottingham and Miss Frye, “Abide with Me,” and “Nearer My God to Thee.” Burial was made in Linwood and the pallbearers were from he family circle and his business associates.
