Carroll L. Tolzmann, 78, of Dubuque, died Thursday, December 1, 2016, at Unity Point Health-Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1755 Delhi Ave. Dubuque. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 Kennedy Road, Dubuque, and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Carroll was born October 18, 1938, in Buckeye, Iowa, son of V.E. and Fern (Eason) Tolzmann. After graduating from Iowa Falls High School, he served in the U.S. Army, serving in Germany for 2 ½ years. He received his BA in accounting from Westmar College and his master's degree in Science and Administration from Notre Dame.

Carroll married Rose Janke on August 27, 1967.

He worked in hospital administration, most recently at Finley Hospital. After leaving Finley, Carroll started his own business, FSI Iowa, Inc.

Carroll loved fishing with his grandkids and spending time with his daughters and family. He enjoyed the outdoors and gardening with his wife in their garden. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Tolzmann, of Dubuque; two daughters, Lisa (Ed) Borchert, of Dubuque, and their children, Erik, Kayla and Ryan; and Amy Anthony, of Dubuque, and her daughter, Jenna. He is also survived by a sister, Barbara Krise, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Tolzmann.

A Carroll Tolzmann Memorial Fund has been established.
