CASCADE, Iowa - Daniel J. Dossey, 45, of Cascade, Iowa passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.

Friends and relatives of Daniel may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa, where services will be held at 5:30 p.m. with Rev. Douglas Loecke Presiding. Military honors will be afforded by the Rock Island US Marine Corps unit.

He was born February 25, 1972, in Dubuque, Iowa, son of Darlene Ennis Dossey. He is a graduate of Hempstead High School in Dubuque, Iowa. On October 1, 2002, he was united in marriage to Abigail Puccio in Anamosa, Iowa. He was employed at Medplast in Monticello, Iowa.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his two daughters. He had also enjoyed hunting, working on vehicles, frisbee golf and billiards, and listening to old country music.

Dan would do anything to help anyone. He was an organ donor, gifting organs to three recipients.

He is a veteran, having served in the Marine Corps.

He is survived by his wife, Abbie Dossey, of Cascade, IA; two daughters, Skylar Dossey, of Storm Lake, and Kennedy Dossey, of Cascade; his mother, Darlene Dossey, of Worthington; three siblings, Linda (Sean) O'Malley, of Bernard, Gordon (Wanda) Dossey, of Dubuque, and Margie (A.J.) Jungwirth, of MN; Mother and father-in-law, Tony (Kathi) Puccio, of Farley; sister and brother-in-laws, Mandy Puccio, of Dyersville, Kelly Puccio and Kara Puccio, both of Dubuque, Shane Puccio, of Dyersville; and Dan's best friend, Loa, of Hopkinton; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his uncle, Bill Ennis, and three aunts, Darlene Ennis, Colleen Elliot and Susie Goerdt.

The family would like to thank the staff at the University of Iowa Hospitals, especially Jessie, the staff of the Iowa donor network, the Mercy Emergency Room staff and Med flight staff, the Cascade Ambulance crew, Sgt. Pape and Jeremy Slight with the Dubuque Police Department for their help. They want to thank everyone for all the wonderful care and support given to Dan and his family.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family would like memorials to be sent to Dutrac Community Credit Union in Dyersville to the Education fund for his daughters, Skylar and Kennedy.
