CASCADE, Iowa - Suzann (Manternach) Brown, 77, of Chicago, Illinois, and formerly of Cascade, Iowa, died Friday, July 10, 2015, at St. James Hospital in Chicago, IL.

Services for Suzann will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cascade, Iowa, with Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Cascade, Iowa. The Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa, is in charge of local arrangements.

She was born January 1, 1938, in Cascade, Iowa, daughter of Peter and Laura (Reiter) Manternach. She was a 1956 graduate of St. Mary's School in Cascade. On May 8, 1976, she was united in marriage to J.C. Brown, together they raised twin sons, Errick and Derrick. Her entire professional career was as a teacher, primarily in the Chicago area.

She is survived by her husband, J.C. Brown, of Chicago, IL; her sons, Errick and Derrick Brown, both of Chicago, IL; her grandsons, Malachy and Malik Brown, both of New York; eight siblings, Sr. Julie Manternach, OSF, of Tulsa, OK, Leon (Glinda) Manternach, of Peosta, IA, Alan (Sharon) Manternach, Greg (Mona) Manternach, Herb Manternach, Julie (Roger) Ripple, Ed (Amy) Manternach and Randy (Debbie) Manternach, all of Cascade, IA; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John Manternach.
