Robert L. "Bob" Weber, 77, of Delhi, Iowa, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville. Private services will be held at a later time.
Robert was born March 11, 1931, in Dyersville, Iowa, the son of Alois and Clara (Vorwald) Weber. He married Shirley Ann Digmann on May 26, 1952, in Dyersville and went to Basic Training for the U.S. Army on June 6, 1952. He served two years during the Korean conflict, stationed primarily in California. When they returned he worked several jobs, but settled on a career as a meat cutter at the Delhi Locker. While working at the locker, Bob and Shirley owned and operated the Delhi Tap. He was a member of the Delhi American Legion Post.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Delhi; eight children, Larry (Mary) Weber, Marshalltown, Iowa, Jerry (Cindy) Weber of Hopkinton, Iowa, Patty (Mark) Rodenkirk of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Dan (Pam) Weber of Manchester, Iowa, Kathy (Jim) Stelken of Delaware, Iowa, Dave (Cindy) Weber of Ankeny, Iowa, Karen (Steve Fairbanks) Weber of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Kay (Kerry) Sternhagen of Delhi, Iowa; 20 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother, Charles (Cathy) Weber of Fayetteville, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Cletus F. Weber.
Memorials are preferred to the Delhi Lions Club or Delhi Legion Post.
