DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Dolores A. Gotto, 89, of Dyersville, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, at Oak Crest Manor, Dyersville, following a brief illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with the Rev. Doug-las Loecke officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 4 p.m.

She was born on May 5, 1917, in Petersburg, daughter of Joseph and Katherine (Kramer) Sturm.

She married Gerald J. Gotto on Sept. 27, 1944, in Dyersville. Together they farmed near Worthington until their retirement in 1965. After moving to town, Dolores kept herself occupied by cleaning houses and working at the Ritz.

Her favorite hobbies included quilting, sewing and gardening.

Surviving are two sons, William "Bill" (Sandy), of Knoxville, Tenn., and Jerry (Cheryl), of Delhi; two daughters, Loey (Bob) McCabe, of New Vienna, and Pat (Tim) Schoo, of Sibley; seven grandchildren, Jenny Gotto, Danny Gotto, Holly (Dan) Cole, Blake and Wes Vorwald, Jay (fiancee, McKenzie Schuldt) Mulder and Dea (Kyle) Pedley; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, in 1990; a son, Jim, in 1991; a sister, Evelyn Sturm; and two brothers, Leonard and Lawrence Sturm.
