Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Petersburg, with the Rev. Phil Kruse officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a rosary at 3:30 p.m.

She was born on Jan. 28, 1915, in Dyersville, daughter of Henry and Mary (Schoeckmoehl) Koopmann.

She married Clarence E. Dingbaum on Feb. 11, 1936 in Dyersville; he proceeded her in death in 1985. Marcella lovingly raised their children on the family farm south of Petersburg. She continued caring for others as a nurse's aide at Oak Crest Manor. She and Clarence retired to Green Valley, Ariz. in 1972, where she enjoyed working in a dress shop and caring for people in their homes.

After Clarence's death, in 1985, she remained in Green Valley until 1992. Since several of her children lived on the East Coast, she joined them, living with her daughter and her family in Sanford, N.C. When Marcella's health began to fail, she moved to St. Ann's Home in Milwaukee for two years before returning to Dyersville in 2004.

Surviving are two daughters, Sr. Mary Elizabeth, of Madison, Wis., and Carolyn (Pat) Jasper, of Sanford; four sons, Anthony (Tommie Lee), of Millersville, Mass., Thomas (Judie), of Wake Forest, N.C., Herbert (Angela), of Hilton Head, S.C., and Donald (Ginny), of Salt Lake City, Utah; and 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a son, Gary and daughter-in-law, Carol Dingbaum; a sister, Marie Lammers; and a brother, Joseph Koopmann.

Online condolences may be left for the family at www.kramerfuneral.com.

The family would like to extend a very special thank-you to the Oak Crest Manor staff and volunteers. Your care went above and beyond the call of duty. God bless you all.
