DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Charlotte M. Bildstein, 79, of Dyersville, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at Oak Crest Manor, Dyersville, following a long illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Petersburg, with the Rev. Phil Kruse and the Rev. John O'Connor officiating. Burial will be in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a Veterans of Foreign Wars Rosary at 3 p.m. and a parish scripture service at 4 p.m.

Mrs. Bildstein worked in the cafeteria at Ss. Peter and Paul School for many years.

She was born on June 21, 1925, in Petersburg, daughter of Herman and Anna (Engelken) Kruse. She married Clarence C. Bildstein on April 30, 1946, in Petersburg; he preceded her in death on July 3, 1999.

She was a good mother, grandmother and homemaker, who enjoyed life to the fullest, loving to play cards, dance and work in her garden.

Surviving are two daughters, Judy Birch, of Dubuque, and Elaine (Greg) Wagner, of Dyersville; a son, Bob (Corlas) Bildstein, of Dubuque; seven grandchildren, Jeff Birch, Todd (fiance, Lisa Then) Birch, Scott (Kelli) Wagner, Jason (Terri) Wagner, Jenny (Jason) Hillebrand and Brett Bildstein and Brianne Bildstein; two great-grandchildren, Abby Wagner and Claire Hillebrand; and a sister, Dorothy Klosterman, of Manchester.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Joseph; two sisters, Irene Bruggemann and Evelyn Koopmann; and two brothers, Edward and Laverne Kruse.
