DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Bernice J. Bredhold, 82, of Dyersville, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with the Rev. Jerry Kopacek officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 4:30 p.m.

She was born on Nov. 28, 1921, in Worthington, daughter of Herman L. and Mary H. (Putz) Fangmann. She married Edmund W. Bredhold on Sept. 24, 1946, in Dyersville; he preceded her in death on May 30, 2001.

Bernice was a very loving and kind lady with a lighthearted personality and a smile for everyone. She always put her family first. She was very strong in her faith, enjoyed a good card game, family tree, crocheting, fishing and country music.

She was loved very much by her family and friends and will be missed tremendously.

Surviving are a daughter, Shirley M. (William J.) Foley, of Dyersville; a son-in-law, Gary E. (Tish) Apfelbeck, of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Kelly S. and Khris D. DeFlieger, Michelle D. (Shawn) Gossen and Carson J. (fiancee, Alicia Cornwell) Apfelbeck; five great-grandchildren, Katie and Austin DeFlieger, Colten Apfelbeck and Abbey and Avery Gossen; a brother, Elmer Fangmann, of Farley; a sister, Julia (Robert) Pasker, of Luxemburg; and a sister-in-law, Lorene Miller, of Huntingburg, Ind.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Mary (Putz) Fangmann; a daughter, Darlene Apfelbeck; three sisters, Dorothy Steffen, Germaine Fangmann and Irene Feldmann; three brothers-in-law, Otto, Linus and Alois Bredhold; a sister-in-law, Mathilda (Hubert) Bumm; and her mother and father-in-law, John and Anna (Braunecker) Bredhold.
