EPWORTH, Iowa - Dolly M. Marxen, 91, of Epworth, Iowa, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 8, 2015, surrounded by her family at Ennoble Manor in Dubuque, Iowa.

Friends and Relatives may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the Reiff Funeral Home in Epworth, Iowa, and on Monday, Oct. 12, after 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Services for Dolly will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2015, at Reiff Funeral Home in Epworth, Iowa, with Pastor Phil Rogers presiding. Burial will be held at Dubuque Memorial Gardens Cemetery in rural Dubuque, Iowa.

Dolly was born May 12, 1924, in Anita, Iowa, daughter of John and Eva (Miller) Baylor. She received her education in the rural Anita school. She was united in marriage to Henry J. "Bud" Marxen on February 1, 1943, in Maryville, MO. Dolly was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was employed by Western Dubuque Schools in the food service program, retiring in 1986.

She enjoyed sewing, jigsaw puzzles, word games, dancing, her flower garden and a good game of rummy cube. Dolly especially enjoyed her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by three children, Wayne (Joan) Marxen, Dave (Donna) Marxen and Linda (Dave) Koerperich, all of Epworth, IA; 8 grandchildren, Adam (Kristy) Marxen, Justin (Laura) Marxen, Rachel (Terry) Kramer, Zack Marxen, Jessica (Marcus) Wunderlich, Valerie (Chris) Spoerle, Sarah (Fiancé Rod Berger) Koerperich and Chris (Fiancée Julia Wonio) Koerperich; 6 great grandchildren, Elsa, Owen, Drew, Henry and Conrad Marxen and Benson Wunderlich.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry J. "Bud" Marxen on February 5, 2008, one son, Larry Marxen in 1951, three brothers, Gale, Charles, and Glen Baylor.
