Paul W. Strane

Paul W. "Bud" Strane, 90, of Dubuque, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at Heritage Manor.

A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at St. John The Baptist Church in Peosta, Iowa, with the Rev. Michael Schueller officiating. Military rites will be accorded following Mass by the Dubuque Marine Corps League. Burial will be at a later date in Dubuque Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Monday at the church until the Mass. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, is in charge of arrangements.

Paul was born on March 21, 1924, on the family farm near Zwingle, Iowa, son of James and Loretta (Beck) Strane. He married Patricia Gockel, of La Motte, on Jan. 22, 1946.

Paul will be remembered for his positive perspective, love of life and his enthusiasm for new things. He will be missed by many.

He is survived by his son Jeff (Mary), of Neenah, Wis., their children, Jessica (Kyle Holihan) Strane, of South Lyon, Mich., Kacey Strane, of Neenah, and Taylor Strane, of Appleton, Wis. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brian (Amy) Strane, of Minneapolis, Heather (Chad) George and Kristi (Corey) Callahan, both of Dallas; and their children. He is further survived by his son Tom's widow, daughter-in-law Karen Strane, of Chaska, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Pat; and his son, Tom.

In lieu of flowers, a Paul Strane memorial fund has been established.
