Shari Vrotsos, 45, of Dubuque, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005, at home.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Dubuque Memorial Gardens, south of Dubuque. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road.

She was born on Jan. 26, 1960, in Dubuque, daughter of James A. and Sylvia (Baldwin) Splinter.

Shari graduated from Hempstead High School in 1978.

She was employed at American Trust & Savings Bank for several years, and for the last 18 years, as a credit analyst at Barnstead International.

Shari was eagerly awaiting the birth of her first grandchild.

Surviving are a daughter, Nicole Vrotsos, at home; a son, Allen Vrotsos, at home; her mother, Sylvia Splinter, of Dubuque; a sister, Chris (Robert) Bauer, of Dubuque; and a brother, James (Kathy McDermott) Splinter, of Dubuque. She is also survived by Blaise Vrotsos, Nicole and Allen's father, of Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by her father, James A. Splinter, on Sept. 30, 2005.

In lieu of flowers, a Shari Vrotsos Memorial Fund has been established.

The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Schreiber for his special care and also Hospice of Dubuque, especially her Hospice nurses, Renee and Sheila.
