Florence L. Saffran, fourteen year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Saffran, 1451 Pine Street, died at Mercy Hospital Tuesday morning shortly after midnight.

Miss Saffran's death came as a distinct shock for she had been attending school only a week ago. She was born in Chicago, July 7, 1917. Her family moved to Dubuque twelve years ago and she had lived here ever since. She attended St. Mary's parochial school, was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and of the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin in that parish.

Private funeral services were held at the Hoffman Funeral Home at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Burial will be made in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Besides her parents, the following relatives mourn her passing; two brothers, John and George, at home; a grandfather, John Saffran in Rochester, and three aunts, Mrs. William Trumpp and Miss Adelaide Saffran, both of Rochester, and Mrs. Wales Hayes, of Dubuque.
