Georgia A. Glab

Georgia A. Glab, age 67, of Dubuque, was called home peacefully at 1:30 p.m., on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at UnityPoint Health Finley Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. To honor Georgia's life, private family services are being held. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street, is in charge of arrangements.

Georgia was born on January 12, 1949, in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of George Herman and Mary "Betty" (Kemp) Grutz.

Georgia was united in marriage to Thomas "Tom" Glab on January 20, 1967, and they were blessed with 49 years together and 2 loving children. Georgia's main focus in life was her family. Whether she was at home taking care of Tom and the kids, or spending the day bonding with her siblings, Georgia was absolutely and joyfully content to be surrounded by those she loved. If Georgia found time to capture a little personal solitude, you could be sure to find her curled up with her most recent western or mystery novel. She did also enjoy spending quality time with her friends in the Dubuque Genealogical Society as they traveled back in time to discover their roots.
Sadly, one of Georgia's favorite times of year was family gatherings at Christmas, and now we find ourselves entering this season with broken and heavy hearts. But we know that her earthly health issues have finally concluded today and she is now at peace celebrating Christmas with her parents once again.

Those left to cherish Georgia's memory include

her loving husband, Tom Glab Sr., Dubuque, IA;

her children,
Sherrie (Michael) Brins, Verona, WI
and Tom (Laura) Glab Jr., Dubuque, IA;

3 grandsons,
Daniel Brins, John Glab and Robert Glab;

and her siblings,
Herbert (Rita) Bisping, Dubuque, IA,
Janis Groh, Dubuque, IA,
George Herman, East Dubuque, IL
and Betty (Bob Rapp) Frick, Dubuque, IA.

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother-in-law, Robert "Bob" Groh.

A Georgia A. Glab memorial fund has been established, which will be distributed among her favorite charities.

Georgia's family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Finley Hospital ICU, for all of their kind, compassionate and professional care of Georgia and her family.

Online condolences may be left for the family at www.behrfuneralhome.com
