Mrs. ALICE W. URBAIN

DUBUQUE – Mrs. John (Alice W.) Urbain, 49 of Rte. 2 Peosta died at 12:45 a.m. last Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital.

Friends called at the Siegert Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. (DST) Friday at St. Joseph’s Church (Prairie). Rev. Robert V. Swift, pastor, officiated at the Requiem High Mass. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Mrs. Urbain was a member of St. Joseph’s Church (Prairie) and it’s Rosary Society. She and John Urbain were married at Holy Family Church at New Melleray, April 2, 1937.

She was born at Zwingle, Iowa, daughter of the late Wm. and Catherine Carabine McCarthy, and lived in the Peosta area most of her life.

Survivors include her husband, John B. Urbain; two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Madigan, Dubuque and Mrs. Quirin (Agnes) Urbain, Peosta; one brother, Louis McCarthy, Peosta, and several nieces and nephews.

The parish rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Thursday at Seigert’s.
