Viola Marie Dick, 95, of Luther Manor Nursing Home, formerly of 1982 Asbury Road, died at 6:50 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999, at Luther Manor.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Mueller Memorial Chapel at Linwood Cemetery, with burial in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, and after 10 a.m. Monday at the chapel.
She was a dental assistant for Dr. William Nesler, before her marriage.
She was born on Dec. 30, 1903, in Dubuque, daughter of William J. and Emma (Smith) Hocking. She married Carl Dick on July 8, 1922, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church; he died in 1980.
She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and the Oxus Cauldron organization of the Masonic Order.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lois Ellwanger, and Mrs. Marjorie (Marvin) Schultz, both of Dubuque; a son, Mr. Richard Dick, of Minnetonka, Minn.; a sister, Mrs. Olive (Russell) Lehsten, of Henning, Minn.; and 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dale Hocking; and a sister, Dorothy Riter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Luther Manor.
