Marian E. Feller, 88, of 1001 Assisi Village, formerly of 2558 Marywood Drive, was called to her home with the Lord at 11:55 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, at Stonehill Care Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Resurrection Catholic Church, 4300 Asbury Road. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Egelhof-Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road.
Mrs. Feller was a former secretary at the Dubuque Packing Co., former secretary of the Northeast Council Boy Scouts of America and retired as secretary of the Iowa Highway Commission. She was co-founder of St. Stephen's Food Bank and was a volunteer at the Dubuque Rescue Mission for many years, as well as, many local organizations.
She was born on Dec. 4, 1914, in Dubuque, daughter of J. Carl and Josephine (Schmitt) Jungk. She married John L. Feller on Oct. 1, 1938, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church; he died on June 18, 1984.
She was a graduate of the former Immaculate Conception Academy in 1933.
She was a member of Resurrection Parish where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.
Surviving are four daughters, Marilyn (Donald) Wasmundt and Linda (Randy) Prater, both of Loveland, Colo., Karen (James) Wieland, of Rock Island, Ill., and Sue Feller, of Berthoud, Colo.; four sons, John D. (Donna) Feller, Paul J. (Patty) Feller and Richard J. (Sharon) Feller, all of Dubuque, and Daniel A. (Laura) Feller, of Clinton, Iowa; 26 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lori; Mrs. Joseph "Lucille" Locher and Florence Jungk; Walter, Arthur, Julius, Harold and Clarence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Dubuque Rescue Mission.
