Mrs. C. Schmickle Called By Death Late Saturday Afternoon

Mrs. C. Schmickle, wife of Charles Schmickle, died Saturday afternoon at 5 o'clock at her home, 1225 Washington street. She had been ill four days.

Mrs. Schmickle was born in Dubuque, Oct. 8, 1865, and has lived here all her life. She was united in marriage with Charles Schmickle June 24, 1898.

Besides her husband, her death is mourned by four daughters, Mayme, Loretta, Freda and Martha; one grandchild, Lorraine Enz, and two sisters, Mrs. Augusta Scherer of Dubuque and Mrs. Etta Cornelius of Lennox, S.D.

One son, William Enz preceded her in death three years ago.

She was a faithful wife and a loving and devoted mother. Mrs. Schmickle was a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran church and a member of the Ladies Aid society. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 from the family residence to St. John's Lutheran church. Burial will be made at St. John's cemetery.
