Mrs. Peter J. (Marie E.) Reiter, 93, of 801 Davis St., formerly of 1502 Lincoln Ave., died at 6:23 a.m. Sunday, March 31, 2002, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Garden Mausoleum at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a parish wake service at 3:30 p.m.

She was born on June 1, 1908, in Dubuque, daughter of Peter and Susan (Haupert) Theobald. She married Peter J. Reiter on June 9, 1927, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dubuque; he died on March 25, 1998.

She was a full-time wife, mother and homemaker and a lifelong resident of Dubuque.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish and Rosary Society. She enjoyed cooking, baking and caring for her house plants. She liked to listen to music and sing along with old German songs. She looked forward to her visits with Sister Mary from Holy Trinity Parish.

Surviving are two daughters, Jean M. Pleimling, of Dubuque, and Leon E. "Mickey" (Al) Lolwing, of Chicago; a son, David P. (Mary Lou) Reiter, of Dubuque; a sister, Martha Burger, of Dubuque; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Martha Theobald, of Milwaukee.

She also was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Rosie Reiter; a brother, Ed Theobald; a son-in-law, Jerry Pleimling, in 1998; and a brother-in-law, Harvey Burger.

Memorials may be given to Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1700 Lincoln Ave., Dubuque, Iowa 52001.
