Bankston, Iowa, June 30 – Mr. Martin Kennedy died Sunday morning at residence 10:30 o’clock from the family in this place. Although Mr. Kennedy had been in failing health for the past five weeks, the news pf his death came as a shock to his family and many friends. Mr. Kennedy was native of Ireland and was born in August 1838. He came to America with his parents when a young man and settled on a farm at this place.

He was married in 1870 to Miss Catherine Welsh at St. Clement’s Church. Nine children were born to them, all of whom survive, Michael, Robert, Mrs. Thomas Smith, Mrs. James O’Meara, Martin, Mrs. Matthew Carroll, Mrs. Will Daly, Genevieve and John. He is also survived by his wife and one sister, Mrs. Richard Harrisky, of O’Neil, Neb., and a brother, Patrick of Elkader, Iowa.
