Leo E. Koeller obituary

Services for Leo E. Koeller, 84, 2598 Crissy Drive, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Congregational United Church of Cdhrist.

Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Mr. Koeller and his wife farmed in the Potosi and Lancaster, Wis., area for a number of years prior to moving to Dubuque. After moving to Dubuque, they owned and operated the Copper Kettle Restaurant and the West Dubuque Tap until he retired in 1977.

He was born on Jun 16, 1909 in Potosi, Wis., son of Fred and Louise (Fritz) Koeller. He died at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, Aug 17, 1993, at The Finley Hospital.

He married Hazel E. Eggers on Feb. 13, 1934 at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Dubuque; she survives.

He grew up in Potosi. He was a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 355 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, both in Dubuque.

Also surviving are seven sons, Ernest and Carson, both of Racine, Wis., Mansel :"Joe" of Retreat, Wis., Steve, of Pretoria, South Africa, Dennis of Shullsburg, Wis. and David and Duane, both of Dubuque; seven daughters, Patricia Richardson and Karen Appenzeller, both of Racine, Lorraine Gueder of Guttenberg, A, Pamela Ries, of Farley, IA, and Velma Koeller, Sandra Koeller and Janel Noll, all of Dubuque; 37 grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren; two brothers, Fred and Warren, both of Potosi; and two sisters, Dorothy Roesch of Lancasater, Wis. and Helen Graney of Platteville, Wis.
