Viola K. "Peggy" Sutton, 88, of 25379 297th St., Bellevue, formerly of Dubuque, died at 12:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, at home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Raphael's Cathedral, Dubuque, with Monsignor Wayne Ressler officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. The Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, Dubuque, is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on Sept. 1, 1917, in La Motte, Iowa, daughter of Michael and Susan (Kramer) Mueller.

She married John M. Sutton on Sept. 11, 1940, at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, and was a homemaker most of her life. John affectionately called her his little dynamo. She certainly was that, tirelessly getting things done, always with a smile.

She spent many hours outdoors nurturing and caring for the flowers and plants that were always in abundance around the house.

Surviving are her husband, John, of Bellevue; two sons, Terrence, of Dubuque, and Tom, of Lake Geneva, Wis.; two grandchildren, Shawn (Emily) Sutton, of Davenport, Iowa, and Lizbeth (Jay) Kopp, of Roseville, Minn.; three great-grandchildren, Alexis, Sophia and Gabrielle; and a sister, Hilda Haxmeier, of Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Clarence, Charlie, LeRoy and Pete; and two sisters, Mildred and Anita Mae.

Memorials in Peggy's name may be given to the Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Gardens.
