LeRoy F. Majerus, 73, of Ennoble Manor Care Center, formerly of 549 Almond St., died at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, at the care center.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with burial in the East Dubuque (Ill.) Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a parish wake service at 4:30 p.m.

Mr. Majerus worked at the Battery Factory and later at the Hoffman Developmental Center.

He was born on July 2, 1928, in Sherrill, Iowa, son of Michael and Anna (Brehm) Majerus.

He was a 50-year member of St. Mary's Parish and the Catholic Order of Foresters, Sherrill Court 1709. He enjoyed going to auctions. In his later years, having never been to a baseball or football game, he became quite a sports fan. He also enjoyed his great-nieces and great-nephews very much.

Surviving are two sisters, Martha B. Olinger, of Dubuque, and Viola C. Aureden, of Bellevue, Iowa; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a twin brother, Norbert Majerus; and a sister, Luella Aureden.

Memorials may be given to the Hoffman Developmental Center, Dubuque.
