A Lively Runaway
~
Yesterday afternoon, while the cortege John B. Lukens was entering Linwood Cemetery, a carriage therein, which, with its context over taxed the strength of the horses, backed down the grade and came in contact with a team of horses attached to a wagon belonging to Mr. Will Smith of Epworth, a relative of the deceased. The horses became frightened in consequence and, in endeavoring to evade the carriage, overturned the wagon, to which they were attached and precipitated five occupants thereof to the ground. They then dashed through the cemetery at a rapid rate, the wagon being restored to its proper position during the flight, and from the cemetery ran down unto to Windsor and Couler Avenues and up Langworthy’s Hollow, where they were captured. The wagon was completely demolished.
