TELEGRAPH-HERALD AND TIMES JOURNAL, January 1, 1929

The death of Wendel Lehman, aged 86 years old, 2307 Queen Street, occurred at Mercy Hospital Monday afternoon at 2:15 after an illness of five days duration. He was born in Albany, N.Y., and had been a resident of Dubuque for 18 years. Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. James Cahill, Vincent, Ia.; Mrs. Herman Maupin and Mrs. Wm. Jackson both of Chicago; four sons, Joseph B., John, William A. and Albert, all of Dubuque, also several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Deceased was a Catholic attending Sacred Heart Church and died fortified by the last rites of that religion. He was a veteran of the Civil War having been a member of Company A. 53rd Iowa Infantry.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday from the home to Sacred Heart Church at 9 o’clock. Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
