CHRIS ZIMMERMAN

Chris Zimmerman who had been ill for a long time, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Hasel, 1382 Forest Lane, at 8 o’clock Monday morning.

The funeral will be held from the Hasel residence Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock to the First Presbyterian Church a half an hour later. Burial will be made in St. John’s Cemetery.

Mr. Zimmerman was born in Baden, Germany, Jan. 21, 1847, and came to this city 51 years ago. For many years he was employed at the Farley-Loetscher plant retiring eight years ago.

He is survived by three sons, Chris Jr., San Jose, Cal., Edward and William Zimmerman, Dubuque; three daughters, Mesdames Jess Fern, Frank Hasel, and William Gere, Jr., all of Dubuque; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and one brother, Lawrence Zimmerman, Bellevue, O.
