Mrs. George Bendel

Mrs. George (Elizabeth) Bendel, 74, died Wednesday morning at 1 o'clock following a serious illness of two weeks at her home, 521 East Twenty-Second Street.

The body was transferred from the Behr Funeral Home to the family home from where the funeral will be held to the Sacred Heart Church Saturday morning at 9 o'clock. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Bendel was born Elizabeth Pilmaier in Dubuque March 28, 1865, and was a lifelong resident of Dubuque. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and the Rosary Society of that parish.

On Oct. 12, 1887, she was married to George Bendel, who survives with a son, Meinard Bendel, Dubuque; one brother, Joseph Pilmaier, Dubuque; three sisters, Mrs. George Albrecht, Mrs. Marie Jestel, and Mrs. A.H. Herget, all of Dubuque; and two grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her son Ray, who died in August 1938, and one sister and one brother.
