GIVES UP LIFE’S BATTLE

Thomas Lochner, one of the oldest and best known resident of this county, died at his home in Sageville, Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock.

The deceased was born in Germany in 1837, coming to Dubuque when a young man and settling at Sageville, where he resided many years. He is survived by his wife, four sons and one daughter, Phillip, Valentine, John, Leonard and Mrs. John Schiltz.

The funeral was held Monday morning from the family residence at Sageville to Holy Ghost Church, where services were conducted. The internment took place in Mt. Calvary.
