Special to the Times Journal:
New Vienna, Ia., Dec. 2, - George Steinl, well known here, while chopping in the timber east of town, was struck by a falling tree and sustained such injuries that his death resulted about an hour later.

Mr. Steinl, with a number of other men, was in the timber at work, when a falling tree struck him, breaking his back. A physician was hastily summoned and everything possible was done for him, but he died an hour later, as stated above. He retained consciousness till near the end.

Deceased leaves a wife and two small children, the oldest aged two years and the youngest about two months old.

Mr. Steinl was born in Germany and was 34 years old at the time of his death. He was married at St. Boniface Church in February, 1906, to Miss Frances Vonderheid. In addition to his wife and children he is survived by his mother, four sisters and two brothers.
