Thrown from a Horse and Killed
Special Dispatch to the Dubuque Herald

FARLEY, IOWA, Sept. 9.

John Cotter, a young man who lived about four miles from this place, was thrown from a horse and instantly killed this afternoon. He was riding the horse to water, when it shied and threw him off. He struck upon his head and his neck was broken,
