The Telegraph Herald, Dubuque, February 5, 1940

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning from Mrs. Nicholas M. Sutton, 52, the former Anna Heitz, who died Sunday morning at 7:45 o’clock following an illness of six weeks at Mercy Hospital.

The body is at the Bennett Ashwoth Funeral Home, from where the funeral will be held to St. Raphael’s Cathedral Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Mrs. Sutton was born in Dubuque County Oct. 29, 1887, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Heitz and had lived in Dubuque all of her life. She was a member of St. Raphael’s Cathedral and the Rosary Society of that parish.

Surviving with her husband are five sons, Nicholas J. Sutton, Jr., probation officer, and John M., Bernard L., Paul R., and Robert M. Sutton, all of Dubuque; five daughters, Mrs. Allen A. (Lelia) Ritter, St. Paul, Minn., and Katherine V., Mary Ann, Rita Jean, and Gloria Mary Sutton, all at home; six brothers, Frank, Lawrence, Joseph and Matthew Heitz, all of Dubuque, William Heitz, Cedar Rapids, and Carl Heitz, Chicago; and five grandchildren.

Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

The Sutton home is at 9 Locust Street.
