PASSES AWAY SATURDAY AFTERNOON
AFTER A BRIEF ILLNESS

George Gray Scott, well known Civil War veteran, passed away at Finley Hospital Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock after a brief illness.

Mr. Scott was born in Perth, Scotland, in 1842, and for the past ten years has lived in Dubuque where he was well known and where he won for himself the esteem with everyone with whom he came in contact with. A great part of his life was spent in travel throughout America and in foreign countries as well.

He leaves to mourn his passing his nephew, George Gray Scott, his grand-nephew, George Scott, Jr., and his grand-niece Maney Forrester.

The funeral service will be held Monday afternoon from the home of his nephew, 732 Fenelon Place, to Linwood Cemetery. Funeral services will be in charge of the Hyde Clark Post, G.A.R. of which the deceased was a member.
