Mrs. Eleaor Lane, 92, widow of John Lane, died at 12:55 Wednesday morning in her home in Cascade. She had been an invalid several years. The funeral will be held at 9 o'clock Friday morning from the family home to St. Martin's church with burial in Calvary cemetery, Cascade. The Devaney Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lane was born Jan 23, 1855, in Lexington, Ky., the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Lavin, and with her family came to Dubuque county when she was years old, settling in Whitewater township. She completed her education in St. Martin's school, Cascade, and later taught in rural schools of the vicinity. She was married to Mr. Lane in September of 1878 at St. Martin's church. After her marriage she lived in Whitewater township until 1893, and then in Richland township, Jones county, until the death of Mr. Lane about 20 years ago. Since then, she made her home in Cascade.

Survivors include five daughters, Miss Mary A. Lane, RN, Cascade; Miss Loyola Lane, RN, Ann Arbor, Mich.; Mrs. Ray (Sadie) Bisenius, Mrs. E.F. (Ruth) White and Miss Ollie Lane, all of Cascade; and one son, Albert Lane, also of Cascade. Beside her parents and husband, she was preceed in death by two daughters, Mrs. Al (Ella) Kelchen and Anna Lane, and by three sons, John Joseph, Luke, and James Lane.
