Dale March, 75, 2386 University Ave., died at 10:12 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1997, at The Finley Hospital.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Egelhof-Casper-Strueber Funeral Home, 1145 Locust St., where friends may call from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in St. Matthew's Lutheran Cemetery, Sherrill, Iowa.

Mr. March worked for A.Y. McDonald Co. for 13 years, retiring in 1983. Before working at McDonald, he farmed and also worked in the mines around New Diggings.

He was born on May 2, 1921, in New Diggings, Wis., son of Edward and Alice (Thompson) March.

Surviving are his wife, the former Norma Hammerand; four sons, Harold (Amanda) March, of Janesville, Wis., Richard (Carla) Moore, of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Robert C. (Jeanne) Moore, of Dubuque, and Tom (Diane) Moore, of East Dubuque, Ill.; three daughters, Linda Moore, of Dubuque, Sally (Jack) Burnette, of Hilliard, Fla., and Judy (Elden) Brown, of Brodhead, Wis.; 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marguerite Redfearn, of Galena, Ill.; and a son-in-law, Ervin Engelke, of Benton, Wis.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Engelke; a grandson, Ervin Engelke; four brothers; and one sister.

Memorials may be given to Primitive Methodist Church in New Diggings and St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Sherrill.
