John Theis Dies at 11:15 p.m.
Friday – Was an Old and
Respected Resident

Mr. John Theis, a resident of Dubuque since 1857, passed away at his residence, 2285 Washington Street, at 11:15 p.m. Friday, Sept 16th.

Mr. Theis was born in Brandenburg, Luxemburg, on July 31st, 1828. He came to this country and to Dubuque when twenty-nine years old and has made his home here ever since.

He is survived by his wife and six daughters Mrs. John Feyen, Mrs. Michael Primason, Mrs. Peter Naigele, Mrs. John McCaffrey, Mrs. Peter Kneiss and Mrs. John Steckel.

The funeral will be held Monday, Sept. 19th, at nine a.m. from the residence to the Sacred Heart church, thence to Mt. Calvary.
