FARLEY, Iowa - Margaret C. Heisler, 95, of Farley, Iowa, died Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Jackson County Hospital in Maquoketa, Iowa.

Friends and relatives of Margaret may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Farley, Iowa, where there will be a wake service at 2:15 p.m., a CDA rosary will be held at 4 p.m. and the Farley American Legion will meet as a body at 7 p.m.

Services for Margaret will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at St. Clement's Catholic Church in Bankston, Iowa, with Rev. John Haugen officiating. Burial will be held in the Church Cemetery.

Margaret was born January 24, 1920 in Bankston, Iowa, daughter of Nick and Christina (Muller) Schmitt. She received her education in the Bankston area schools. On October 19, 1943, she was united in marriage to John J. Heisler, at St. Clement's Catholic Church in Bankston. The couple farmed in the Bankston area, and she also worked in the Dietary Department at Mercy Medical Center until her retirement.

She was a member of St. Clement's Parish, its Altar and Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters of the America's-Presentation Court #1460. She was well known as the "cookie lady" for all the great cookies she baked and shared with all and will forever be remembered to everyone for her ending quotes whenever she spoke to someone, "God Love You."

She is survived by one daughter, Virginia (Richard) Barton, of Zwingle, IA; 3 sons, Robert (Ann) Heisler, of Dyersville, IA, George (Bonnie) Heisler, of Farley, IA and Ambrose (Debbie) Heisler, of Farley, IA; 9 grandchildren, Robert Barton, Christina (Todd) Moore, Kevin (Lydia) Heisler, David Heisler and Katie Heisler, Jason (Cathy) Heisler, Benji (Jeni) Heisler, Jessica Rhodes, Adam Rhodes (& friend, Megan Franzen); 9 great grandchildren, Mariah, Atalissa, Brooklyn, Callan, Charissa, Hayden, Henry, Merritt, and Kaitlyn and a sister-in-law, Ann Phillips of Dubuque, IA.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John J. Heisler, on October 14, 2002, one daughter, Mary Beth Heisler, on September 4, 1959, one son, Eugene J. (Brother Peregrine) Heisler, on September 26, 1963, one sister, Mary C. (Robert "R.R.") Lahey, brothers and sisters-in-law, Frances and Leonard Phillips, Art and Dorothy Phillips, Colette and Sal Giunta.

The family would like to thank the Jackson County Hospital staff and Clover Ridge Place Retirement Community for all the great care and kindness given to mother, and to Home Instead Hospice of Dyersville and Father Hentges for all of his prayers.
