Eugene D. Lattner, 70, 2438 Hacienda Drive, formerly of Bankston, Iowa, died at 7:25 a.m. Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, at Mercy Health Center St. Joseph's Unit.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Resurrection Catholic Church, with burial in St. Clement's Cemetery, Bankston. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, where there will be a wake service at 4 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7 p.m. The Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lattner farmed in the Bankston area all of his life, until retirement.

He was born on Aug. 23, 1928, in Bankston, son of Walter A. and Eva Ann (Daly) Lattner.

He received his education at the former St. Clement's School, in Bankston, and is a graduate of Senior High School, Dubuque. He was a member of the Farley Knights of Columbus Council 2001, a former member of the Elk's Club, Dubuque, and Resurrection Parish. He was an avid bowler and card player.

Surviving are three sisters, Velma Healy and Helen (Mike) Agrella, both of Dubuque, and Lenore (M.T.) Mouzey, of Dallas, Texas; and 13 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Loras W. and Alfred; and two sisters, Grace Kennaman and Mary I. "Rene" Lattner.
