BANKSTON, Iowa - Clifford E. Lattner, 82, 22512 Girl Scout Road, Bankston, rural Epworth, died at 9:18 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 1997, at Mercy Health Center St. Joseph's Unit, Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Clement's Catholic Church, Bankston, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where there will be a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7 p.m. and a wake service at 8 p.m.

Mr. Lattner farmed all of his life in the Bankston area.

He was born on July 27, 1914, in Dubuque, son of Wilfred and Mary Ellen (Winchell) Lattner. He married Myrene Rauen on Nov. 10, 1937, at St. Clement's Catholic Church, Bankston.

He was a graduate of the former St. Clement's High School, Bankston. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 2001, of Farley, St. Clement's Parish, and was a church trustee, and a member of the St. Clement's Society. He was a former member of the Fourth Degree Dubourg Assembly Council 1573.

Surviving are his wife, Myrene Lattner, of Bankston; three sons, David (Carol) Lattner, of Holy Cross, Paul Lattner, of Dubuque, and Joe (Peg) Lattner, of Bankston; two daughters, Donna (Ron) Huberty, of Dyersville, and Ellen Kerker, of Dubuque; and 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Winifred Gisel, Dorothy Nadermann and Muriel Lattner.

A Clifford E. Lattner Memorial Fund has been established.
