LAMONT, Iowa - Cecelia D. Lahey, 76, of Lamont, formerly of Farley and Dyersville, died at 8:44 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, at the Delaware County Memorial Hospital, Manchester.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Clement's Catholic Church, Bankston, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where there will be a wake service at 4:30 p.m.

She was born on July 7, 1922, in Bankston, daughter of Nicholas and Mary (Stoffel) Steffen. She married Loras Lahey on June 24, 1942, at St. Clement's Catholic Church, Bankston.

She received her education in the Bankston area schools. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lamont.

Surviving are two daughters, Gail Watson (and her fiance, Richard Maas), of Dubuque, and Jeannie Wedo, of Elgin; three sons, Pat (Marty) Lahey, of Mountain Grove, Mo., Jerry (Doris) Lahey, of New Glarus, Wis., and Chuck (Sandy) Lahey, of Durand, Ill.; 24 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lenore Denlinger, of Epworth, and Lolita "Pete" Steger, of Epworth; and a brother, Nicholas Steffen, of Bankston.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; four sisters; and a granddaughter, Donna Lahey.

A Cecelia D. Lahey Memorial Fund has been established.
