BANKSTON, Iowa - Loras J. Hildebrand, 46, 25725 New Vienna Road, Bankston, died at 4:58 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 1997, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Clement's Catholic Church, Bankston, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where there will be a Catholic Order of Forresters rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a wake service at 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Hildebrand owned and operated Hildebrand Welding in Bankston.

He was born on Nov. 1, 1951, in Farley, son of Albert G. and Mary (Miller) Hildebrand. He married Helen Feldmann in May 5, 1979, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley.

He was a 1971 graduate of Western Dubuque High School, Epworth. He was a member of St. Clement's Parish, Bankston, and the Catholic Order of Forresters Local 607 of Worthington. Loras was an avid farm toy collector.

Surviving are his wife, Helen Hildebrand, of Bankston; seven sisters, Mary Frances (Glen) Milligan and Joyce Hildebrand, both of Dubuque, Cathy (Roger) Bartels, of Durango, Verna (Vesse) Klostermann, of Edgewood, Carol (David) Gaul, of Guttenberg, Gladys Gaul, of Dyersville, and Norma (Dick) Kelchen, of Farley; five brothers, Jerome (Phyllis) Hildebrand and Steve Hildebrand, both of Dyersville, Tom (Elaine) Hildebrand, of Dubuque, Richard Hildebrand, of Camarillo, Calif., and Albert (Kelly) Hildebrand Jr., of Dixon, Ill.; his stepmother, Mrs. Alvin (Gladys) Goepfert, of Maquoketa; and a stepbrother, Norlan (Cindy) Hinke, of DeWitt.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mrs. Paul (Ruth) Wagner, on Oct. 16, 1983; two brothers, Robert Hildebrand, on Aug. 7, 1980, and Leonard Hildebrand, on Sept. 10, 1980; and a stepbrother, Stan Hinke.

A Loras J. Hildebrand Memorial Fund has been established.
