FARLEY, Iowa - Services for Margaret M. Connolly, 83, 308 Second Ave. N.W., Farley, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley.

Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery, rural Peosta. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where there will be a St. Joseph's Parish rosary at 2 p.m. and a wake service at 8 p.m.

Mrs. Connolly taught school in a number of rural country schools, at St. Joseph's Catholic School, Farley, and at the Western Dubuque Community Schools, retiring in 1978.

She was born on March 26, 1913, in Bankston, daughter of William and Anna (Kennedy) Daly. She died at 3:45 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 1996, at Mercy Health Center St. Joseph's Unit, Dubuque.

She married Albert Connolly on Dec. 26, 1939, at St. Clement's Catholic Church, Bankston; he died on Jan. 5, 1979.

She received her education in St. Clement's School in Bankston, attended Clarke College, Dubuque, and graduated from the University of Dubuque. She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, Farley, and its altar and rosary society, Retired Teachers Association and the Friends of Dubuque County Library.

Surviving are a daughter, Cathy (and Charles) Wickler, of Waukesha, Wis.; four sons, Patrick A. (and Carol) Connolly, of Slinger, Wis., Thomas J. (and Barbara) Connolly, of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Michael W. (and Martha) Connolly and Allan P. (and Connie) Connolly, both of Dubuque; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two sisters, Anna Mae Daly, of Ward, Colo., and Catherine Knapp, of Mason City, Iowa; a brother, Matt C. (and Ann) Daly, of Bankston; and two sisters-in-law, Peggy McDermott, of Dyersville, and Florence Daly, of Dubuque.

She also was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Kelly; and two brothers, Donald Daly and William Daly.

A Margaret M. Connolly Memorial Fund has been established.
