NEW VIENNA, Iowa -- Irene M. Mescher Korslin, 96, of Roseville, Minn., formerly of New Vienna, died peacefully Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at Eagle Crest, Roseville.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Vienna, where friends may call after 9 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, is in charge of arrangements.

Irene was born on Sept. 15, 1913, in New Vienna, daughter of Hugo and Adelied (Kluesner) Ahlers. She married Herbert F. Mescher; he preceded her in death in 1974. She later married Clarence Korslin; he preceded her in death in 1988.

Surviving are her daughter, Anita (John) Speltz, of Roseville; four grandchildren, Meg (Paul) Kelley, Bob (Rita) Speltz, Collette (Jerry) Szitta and Tom Speltz; and seven great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, LaVerne "Buddy" Ahlers and Florence (Walter) Anglin.
