Peter Ludwig, 42, of Round Lake, Ill., formerly of Dubuque, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, in Round Lake.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25, at Hoffmann Schneider Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1640 Main St., with Deacon Jim Thill officiating. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery, New Melleray. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

He was born on April 16, 1968, in Dubuque, son of Orville and Marguerite (Stoffel) Ludwig. Peter attended Dubuque Senior High School.

He was employed at U-Line Industries in Round Lake.

Peter studied Shotokan Karate for several years, rising through the ranks, and enjoyed spending time with his daughter. He also loved to play the guitar and sing.

Surviving are his daughter, Miranda Ludwig, of Round Lake; his father, Orville Ludwig, of East Dubuque, Ill.; four brothers, William Ludwig, of Millersburg, Iowa, Tim (Jodi) Ludwig, of Peosta, Iowa, Tom Ludwig and John Ludwig, both of Dubuque; a sister, Susan (Michael) Brothers, of Dubuque; nine nieces and nephews; and eight great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother; and a brother, James.

Memorials may be given to Orville Ludwig for the establishment of a memorial fund for Peter.
