Erma K. Parris, 87, of N. 1771 Boelte Road, Columbus, Wis., formerly of Dubuque, died at 2:10 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, 1997, at Columbus Hospital.

Chapel services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., with burial in the Asbury (Iowa) Methodist Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Parris was formerly employed at Mercy Health Center in housekeeping for 24 years, retiring in 1975.

She was born on March 13, 1910, in New English, Iowa. She married Louis H. Parris in 1926, in Huron, S.D.

She moved to Columbus about three years ago. Erma made beautiful quilts and enjoyed doing crafts. She also was an ardent fisherman.

Surviving are two daughters, Phyllis M. (Glenn) Kirton, of Dubuque, and Sandy J. Meyers, of Nicholson, Pa.; a son, Allen R. (Anita) Parris, of Dubuque; eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Annie, Ida and Margaret, all of Ottumwa, Iowa; a brother, Mike, of Davenport, Iowa; and a special friend, Lavern Pachel, of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis H. Parris, in 1965; a son, Lemuel L. Parris, in 1980; and a granddaughter, Debra Kirton, in 1962.

An Erma K. Parris Memorial Fund has been established.
