Anna M. (Halfhill) Thimmesch 1937-2013

Anna M. Thimmesch, 75, of 2022 Grant St., passed away at 3:50 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at ManorCare Health Services, surrounded by her loving family.

According to her wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. Private family memorial services will be held. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, is in charge of arrangements.

Anna was born on March 16, 1937, in Elkport, Iowa, daughter of George and Anna (Billmeyer) Halfhill. She married Harold Thimmesch, and together they shared 57 wonderful years together.

Anna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the sparkle in her eyes. She will be sadly missed by her family.

Surviving are her husband, Harold; a daughter, Deanna Kane, of Dubuque; three grandchildren, Terry Kane, of Dubuque, Mark (Robin) Kane, of Asbury, Iowa, and Kevin Kane, of Dubuque; seven great-grandchildren, Dylan Kane, Kyra Kane, Tony Kane, Kylie Kane, Luke Kane, Kody Kane and Kaitlyn Dietz; sisters, Phyllis (Wayne) McLaughlin, Verla Halfhill and Kelly (Mark) Dolan; brothers, Jerry (Brenda) Halfhill and Dennis (Mary Lou) Halfhill; sister-in-law, Joyce Halfhill; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary Lou Scheffert; brother-in-law, Tom Scheffert; and brothers, George Jr., and Donald Halfhill.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Haas and the nurses and staff of ManorCare for all their wonderful care they gave to Anna.
