Adele A. Becker, 90, of Luther Manor, died Friday, May 12, 2006, at Luther Manor.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. The Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on July 23, 1915, in Dubuque, daughter of John and Agnes (Cunningham) Becker.

She started working at Kruse's Grocery and Ice Cream Store in 1930, and became a co-owner in 1962. She retired in 1977.

She was a generous and religious person who greatly enjoyed pleasing others with her exceptional desserts, especially her German chocolate cakes and vast assortment of Christmas cookies.

Adele was a proud graduate of the former Immaculate Conception Academy and a member of St. Mary's Church.

Surviving are three sisters-in-law, Clara Becker and Mary Becker, both of Dubuque, and Helen Becker of Littleton, Colo.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, John Francis, Harry, Robert and Albert Becker; and two sisters, Virginia Rowland and Ethel Becker.

An Adele A. Becker Memorial Fund has been established.

Adele's family is very grateful for the compassionate care she received from the staff at Luther Manor during her last 14 years.
